The three-dimensional objects animation
Apart from the drawn animation which was described in the previous
chapters (so called "cartoons"), in the "Animated Debate" project other
kinds of three-dimensional objects animations were used as well.
Here one can distinguish:
puppet
animation
cut-out
animation
clay
animation
compound
techniques
In the animated film, inanimate puppets or other objects are put in
a particular scenography, their motion is planned and well-thought
out, and the plot is based on the script which was previously prepared.
In the animated film the inanimate objects must be animated using
the arduous filming, frame by frame, similarly as in an actor film,
directing the particular scenes. The camera which records the action
is usually motionless, however it is extremely difficult task to
make sure that only our animated object is changed in each frame,
that the scenography is constant, that each phase motion is recorded
in the same light, etc. It happens often that the animated object,
a puppet, does not endure the work being done and has to be fixed.
Our participants faced these and other difficult tasks, and the results
were three animated feature films where the figures made of clay
were used.
These are the most important phases of the three-dimensional objects
animation:
