The idea of the guide
One of the goals of the Animated Debate project was to persuade the
society of educators to use the newest ICT and communication technologies
in education in a more courageous way. For two years, the workshops
programme’s creators and producers from four countries have worked
on the universal methodology, which could be used in the educational
process of the children and youth in school environment. The following
guide includes detailed information about the opportunities how to
implement the particular phases of the project.
The goal of the guide is to promote media techniques among educators
and teachers, as the tool which can be used not only to teach the computer
skills, but also as means of exchange with peers in different countries,
and the tool to implement interesting creative actions, initiate new
educational solutions, and the support of all the subjects teaching
process.
The two fundamental goals of the guide are the promotion of modern
technologies and media at schools as well as documentation and spreading
the work effects by the new areas of art, based on the use of media
and ICT.
The content of the guide is abound with illustrations, made within two years
by the workshops participants. These are works at different levels of advance,
created in varied computer programmes; one can find here also the results of
the art workshops, which are important to the project. All works included in
the guide exemplify the process of the Animated Debate project, recommended
by its creators, as the universal method of the newest technologies use in
educational actions.
The guide is aimed at the teachers of all subjects, educators, instructors,
form teachers, and therapists, who are interested in the broader use of the
newest technologies in their work. Using the example of making computer animations,
the creators of the project are trying to indicate the way how to use the computer
to support the development and sensitivity of students.
The guide describes these elements of the Animated Debate Project, which can
be transferred to the school environment. One should realize, however, that
in order to accomplish the described ideas, a producer needs to possess a certain
"minimal amount" of computer and media skills. The guide shows the sources
of the essential knowledge.
The guide is published only in the electronic version. Its fundamental task
is to stimulate and encourage all educators, who can use new technologies,
to do that. The first step is to go through the next chapters of the presentation.
